Jimi has 20 years of experience in operational risk and regulation. Jimi has held several roles at the UK regulator, including as an operational risk policy SME and Basel 2 specialist, and as a supervisor of major banks and investment firms. Jimi has also held senior positions within the GSIFI MUFG, including as Head of EMEA Regulatory Affairs. 

Since establishing his own consultancy in 2016, Jimi has undertaken a diverse range of projects, supporting clients ranging from a G-SIFI bank to a DB pension scheme. Dr Hinchliffe is now also partnering with Chapelle Consulting for consulting projects related to operational risk and regulatory matters, and in relation to the UK regulators' S166 panel, of which Chapelle Consulting is a member. 

Jimi’s main areas of expertise and interest are operational risk and regulatory affairs, and in addition to consulting projects, Jimi has published a number of journal articles on his specialist subjects and spoken at international conference and training events. Jimi is a former director of the Institute of Operational Risk, and since May 2017 has been Chairman of the Institute in England & Wales. Jimi is also a Fellow of the Institute.
